Chasing Autumn

This was made with my wonderful mother in mind. For as long as i can remember, Autumn has been her favorite time of year. Filling her home with pressed leaves and dried berry wreaths, I too have grown to adore the muted reds and yellows of this season. ( not to mention the crisp air and smells of the earth, which is hard to experience this far south ).

I have added it's follower, Winter, because this is my absolute favorite season depicted in art 'round the world. This does not mean i enjoy below freezing temperatures, but the blues, silvers, and grays of winter are captivating to say the least.

I have attempted in this seasonal piece to create a gradual change into the next season, to make it appear as one scene happening. Since many times at the end of fall, you can see the evidence of winter's approach in a single patch of trees.
